PS...I'm a Personal Stylist
Ok…cat is out of the bag! I’ve been randomly posting some photos of me in different outfits on social media. I think a few people may be wondering why on earth I’m doing that. Why, all of a sudden, is Cherie putting up outfits on Facebook and Instagram? Out of the blue. No explanation. Just outfits.
Weird huh?!
Well, I’ll tell you!
It’s not because of my model like looks. I’m not looking for a modelling contract. Nor am I becoming the next big influencer. Far from it.
What I have done is I’ve become a certified nutcase. No….not really. But I have become a certified Personal Stylist!
I figured I would squish my love of shopping and my love of helping women feel amazing together and Personal Styling was the logical choice.
What does that mean?
Well, it means as a side hustle (not planning on leaving my current jobs that I LOVE) I can help people of all ages, of all sizes, of all heights, with all tastes, find clothes that make them feel like the queen (or king) that they are. It means I can help people see how beautiful they are…just as they are! It means I can help people step out, whether it be to a fancy restaurant for date night, a wedding, or just to everyday events, feeling like they can conquer the world. Feel amazing because they feel confident in their own skin.
It’s not all about shopping and buying new clothes. It’s about going through your current wardrobe to find outfits that you may not have discovered yet. It’s about finding those gaps in your wardrobe to make life easier when it comes to working out what to wear. It’s about helping you work out your body shape and therefore dress to enhance that amazing body you have.
Too often, we gaze in the mirror and only take note of those pesky parts we hate. How often do you look in the mirror and think “Whoa babe…you are looking hot today!” How often do you see the best parts of you? Those parts that make up the whole of you that those around you love?
We see pictures on social media that make us think we are not enough….not skinny enough, not curvy enough, not tall enough, not young enough.
Stop!
We are real. Real women, real men, real people. And we deserve to feel incredible….just as we are.
I’ve been shopping enough times…even with my own daughters, when someone has ended up in tears because they don’t fit the high expectations society has on them to be a certain size, shape, height, weight. Sometimes that’s been me. But not anymore.
Now, I knew quite a bit of the content of the course already. I’ve been a member of Nat Tucker’s Make it Look Easy community for a few years now where I’ve learnt to dress for my shape and colouring. It’s been such an amazing community to be a part of…women supporting each other like no other community I know. I’m incredibly grateful for this community and will continue to learn and grow under Nat’s guidance like so many other women.
The course I did with Professional Styling Academy cemented all the knowledge I already had and has given me the confidence to help others.
Those of you who know me, know I’m a super shopper! I literally shop till I drop…even if I don’t buy a single thing! I call it research. My husband calls it exhausting.
I’m not set up yet….I need to do some behind-the-scene paperworky things that are going to be annoying to do, but necessary if I want to do this properly.
I even have to come up with a cool name for it. All suggestions welcome!
So stay tuned!
Cherie Keating, Personal Stylist ( or something along those lines!) will be here soon!
Me posting outfits is for my benefit as much as yours…I need to get comfortable selling my styling services. It’s a big step out of my comfort zone…but I truly believe so many people need some guidance in this area. And I’m now qualified to be that guiding light, one t-shirt at time.
I’ll never tell someone they can’t wear something. I’ll never change who you are as a person. You are you. All I’ll do is help you see the best bits of you, that you may have forgotten about.
I want to help you feel seen and love that feeling of being seen.
Because we all deserve that. That’s all.
Love,
Cherie with a C.
